How many days should I plan in India?
| Your situation | Typical visits | Suggested stay in Ahmedabad |
|---|---|---|
| One tooth, straightforward root canal, no crown yet | 1 to 2 visits | 2 to 3 days |
| One tooth with root canal and crown | 2 to 3 visits | About 4 to 6 days |
| Several teeth, or redoing an old root canal | Several visits | About 7 to 10 days |
| Severe infection or swelling | Staged treatment | Confirmed after examination |
What happens during root canal treatment
Inside each tooth is a soft pulp with nerves and blood vessels. When it becomes inflamed or infected, the dentist numbs the tooth, removes the damaged pulp, cleans and disinfects the canals with rotary instruments and irrigation, then seals them. The tooth is then rebuilt with a filling or crown so you can chew normally again.
Single-visit root canal with the EndoDeck system
For travellers, fewer appointments matter. When the tooth is suitable, the complete canal treatment can be done in one sitting using the EndoDeck™ endodontic system, a digital root canal workflow for which Dr Bharat Agravat is named as an innovator. It brings together digital X-rays, rotary shaping, apex location and 3D obturation in one organised workflow.
Is it painful?
The tooth is fully numbed during treatment, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. Mild tenderness when chewing for two to three days is common and usually settles with simple painkillers. Most patients are comfortable enough to go sightseeing the next day.
Root canal cost in India
As a guide, root canal treatment in India usually costs about Rs 3,000 to Rs 9,000 or more per tooth, with the crown charged separately. Price depends on the tooth, number of canals, whether it is a first treatment or a retreatment, and the crown material. Your written estimate is shared after the consultation; ask us what it includes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get a root canal done in India during a short trip?
Often, yes. A straightforward root canal can be completed in one or two visits. If you also need a crown, plan a few extra days in Ahmedabad for the crown to be made and fitted. Your exact number of days is confirmed in the free online video consultation before you book flights.
What should I send before travelling?
A recent dental X-ray (OPG or a periapical X-ray) if you have one, clear photos of the tooth, a short description of your symptoms and any medical history. Send them on WhatsApp to 98257 63666.
Is single-visit root canal treatment possible for overseas patients?
When the tooth is suitable, yes. Using the EndoDeck system, the canal cleaning, disinfection and sealing can be completed in one appointment. Teeth with severe infection, swelling or an old root canal that needs redoing may need more than one visit, so build a little flexibility into your trip.
How much does root canal treatment cost in India?
As a guide, root canal treatment in India usually ranges from about Rs 3,000 to Rs 9,000 or more per tooth, before the crown. Your written estimate, including the crown if needed, is shared after your consultation and examination.
What if the tooth hurts after I fly home?
Mild tenderness for a few days is normal. You can send photos or questions on WhatsApp and arrange a video review with our team. If you have swelling, fever or severe pain, see a local dentist promptly and share their findings with us.
Is flying after a root canal safe?
Most patients fly comfortably after an uncomplicated root canal. If your tooth was very infected, your dentist may suggest a review appointment before you leave India.
